I hope that I am not rehashing something that has already been dealt with

on this list (non-mainstream films reach my part of the Midwest weeks or

months after they show in major cities), but I am curious as to reactions

to MY LIFE IS IN TURNAROUND by Eric Schaeffer and Donal Lardner Ward.  I

have generally seen it referred to as "critically acclaimed," but a

colleague and I (both also film critics for a Midwestern paper) found it

almost completely worthless either as a straight tale of breaking into

filmmaking or as a satire, with no technical aspect of it (including the

script and the acting) worthy of note.  Although I am used to be being at

odds with the majority of film critics/reviewers, this is a case where I

simply can't fathom the opposite position (that is, any sort of acclaim for

this film); my quandary has just been heightened by reading that Schaeffer

has another project in the works with film industry money.  I would really

appreciate list subscribers' comments about this film.  Thanks in advance.
