George Mason is a state university with an enrollment of 21,000
students (approximately 13,000 undergraduates) in the northern Virginia
suburbs of Washington DC. The English major includes the option of a
concentration in Film and Media Studies; there is also an
interdisciplinary undergraduate Film and Media Studies minor program.
English department faculty play a major role in the interdisciplinary
Cultural Studies PhD program, which admitted its first students in Fall
1994.
