Game,the neglected Boudu Saved From Drowning (and its US remake Down and
Out in Beverly Hills), A Day in the Country, La Bete Humaine (the murdered
rich older man took advantage of his femme-household staff),The Lower
Depths, The Golden Coach (lowly thespians and colonial rulers), and on and
=46ilms of Marcel Carn=E9 like Le Jour se Leve, Children of Paradise (the
Count), et al. Feyder's Carnival in Flanders.Carne again with
Bizarre-Bizarre (as farce), etc.etc.
Rene Clair's Le Million (in a small way),A Nous la Liberte (in a bigger
way), The Ghost Goes West (satirizes wealthy Amer. nouveaux riches, Les
Grandes Maneuvres to an extent.
Duvivier's Pepe le Moko, Truffaut's Shoot the Pianist, Blier's Too
Beautiful for You. Getting tired.So much depends on the definition(s) of
"classism," on whether it is the main subject, a sub-topic or a more or
less delicate hint.
If no Ph.D. dissertation exists on this, someone ought to become rich (?)
and famous with this subject.
