Two Tenure-Track Professors of French and Francophone Studies positions:
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, The University of
Michigan, is authorized to appoint two assistant professors of French, to
begin Fall 1995.  For one position, candidates will be expected to have
expertise and a strong teaching interest in cinema.  Desirable primary
and secondary fields of scholarly specialization for both positions are
cultural studies (including historical and gender studies), media
studies, cinema, theatre, and sixteenth-, eighteenth-, or
twentieth-century French literature, Francophone studies.  Commitments to
teaching as well as promise of scholarly excellence required.  Applicants
for assistant professorship must guarantee a PhD in hand by May 1, 1995.
We will also consider applicants at the associate or full professor
level.  Send letter, CV, and placement file (including addresses and
phone numbers of three references) to Professor William Paulson, Chair,
Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, The University of
Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1275.  The University of Michigan is an
