Hi there.
I am presently attending the Unversity of North Carolina at
Greensboro in the division of Broadcast and Cinema. It is production
oreinted and stresses creativeness and originality. I am happy enough
with the program. Of coaurse there are wishes for better and more
equipment accesss but who doesn't wish for more?
the school admits about seven new graduate students in the 60 Master
of Fine Arts program. This small student base allows for greater
collaboration and gives an atmosphere of support among the students.
One of the goals of this program is to give a solid theoretical base
in cinema and practicle hands on experience. If you have no
experience you will be afforded a chance to experiment and learn the
medium of film and video.
Many of the graduates go on to an academic careers. Graduates also
start production oreinted businesses.
One of the advantages of North Carolina as a place for film studies
is that it is one of the top five film making states in the U.S. The
chances for internships and work in thr film industry is enhanced.
The North Carolina School of the Arts is begining a film school
division in undergraduate studies. ( They also have a dance and
theater division. ) It is rumored that NC school of the arts is
planning a graduate program in a few years.
I am pleased with the program at UNC-G. The students are beginning
to make waves in the industry with three student emmies as well as
other festival awards for films made while at UNC-G.
If you have any other questions or comments don't hesitate to write.
