Speed, which is neither jokey, allusive, or tongue in cheek, is
a much better movie than True Lies.   Andrew Gordon

On the whole, yeah, but it's just as (if not more) driven by plot formula
as TL.  It's High Concept (if the industry uses that term anymore): Bomb
on bus will explode if bus goes below 50.  Dennis Hopper could win
Disgruntled Former Employee of the Year (to replace Malkovich in IN THE
LINE OF FIRE), and Jeff Daniels should have a name tag like the partner
in HOT SHOTS I: "Dead Meat."
