in regards to the red coat giving a human dimension to the massacre...
its use steals humanity from those not wearing it.
the scenes that give human dimensions to the massacre are the ones
in which the nazi soldiers shoot prisoners point blank in the head
as they kneel on the ground... sticking static and medium long on
these, uncomprimising in his portrayal, spielberg finds his best moments.
he should have stuck with them.
