As far as contemporary French Cinema goes, I would want to use _Man Bites
Dog_ (1993), possibly the darkest black comedy I have ever seen.  A serial
killer hires a film crew do document his brutal acts of carnage.  For the
viewer, the film raises serious concerns about the relation between the
filmmaker and the event being documented.  It's great stuff.
