In response to the posting referred to, I have heard about a
number of rumors, research, columns, speculation, etc. of a
Hollywood biopic on Oscar Micheaux over the last few years. (The
irony of Hollywood filming the Micheaux story would certainly be
overwhelming.) However, I have not heard of anything more
concrete, certainly not something actually filmed, although
perhaps someone who follows Variety and the trades might know
more. A documentary about Micheaux and early race films, entitled
MIDNIGHT RAMBLE, was recently completed and is set to air over
PBS's American Experience anthology, sometime this year I
          believe.
