If anyone presenting a paper at the Society for Cinema Studies
conference (one week from today, in New Orleans!) would like to have
their paper posted on SCREEN-L FILELIST please get in touch with me
at the address below.

I plan to put my own paper, "Redesigning(?) the Sitcom: The Case of
DESIGNING WOMEN," on the FILELIST in a day or two...

This summer the University Film and Video Association will be experimenting
with this form of pre-conference distribution. I think it has great
potential for getting papers to participants quickly and inexpensively, but
it hasn't yet been put to the test.

One should respect public opinion insofar as is necessary to
avoid starvation and keep out of prison, but anything that
goes beyond this is voluntary submission to an unnecesssary
          tyranny. --Bertrand Russell--
