Folks--

I'm a new subscriber, so I'm not sure whether this is
an appropriate question--nevertheless, here goes--

A friend reports that in "Cape Fear," the Robert DeNiro
character delivers a speech that he attributes to a 17th (?)
century philosopher named something like Selatious (Salacious(?))

I haven't seen the movie myself, so I don't know--is this a made
up quote? A real one? Anybody know?

Thanks for any response.
