If it's hollywood medievalism you want, don't overlook "If I Were King",
with (I think) Ronald Colman as Francois Villon and Basil Rathbone as th
 
the excentric Louis IX, the "Spider King." The ingenue is played by a
name actress also, but her name escapes me. It's a very entertaining
film about Paris lowlife in (?) the 15th century.
