To Medieval movie fans: Has anyone seen Juan Bunuel's
LEONOR, available on video in English dubbed version, with Liv
Ullmann and Michel Piccoli? It's about a man so obsessed with
his wife that he makes a deal to get her back from the dead, but
she's been in hell where everyone's a cannibal and can't shake the
habit... Existential horror film, bleak, I found it really descriptive of
life in plague times. At least one American critic couldn't tolerate
it at any level--it is very slow...
