Check out _Film as Film_ by Joy Boyum and Adrienne Scott (Boston: Allyn and
Bacon, 1971). The have mediocre articles that introduce groups of reviews
from the popular press on the a few dozen films (you know, "classics," but
also interesting late 60s films like _Bonnie and Clyde_ and _Blow-Up_). I'm
using it for _Night at the Opera_ for my class. I found it, in large
supply, at a used bookstore.
