Niel Postman's book "Amusing Ourselves To Death" takes a rather
depressing, yet relatively well-informed and insightful look at
television (and mass media in general) and its impact on the mental
health of our society. It is easy to read and very provocative. I
haven't read it for a couple years but i think it would be worth a
look.
