The Midnight Sun Film Festival, "the most northernly film festival in
the world," is coming up on 12-16 June 1991, in Sodankyla, Lapland.

Which is not precisely Finland (see header), but which is apparently
associated with the Tampere Film Festival (6-10 March 1991), which >is<
Finnish and which sent me an announcement and which can be contacted for
more information about the Midnight Sun Film Festival:

Tampere Film Festival
Box 305
33101 Tampere, Finland
Phone 358-31-130034

The announcement sent me for the Midnight Sun Festival is in a language
I don't understand, but they seem to be advertising the appearance of
Andre de Toth (possibly the only one-eyed director to direct a 3-D
film), George Sidney, Luis Garcia Berlanga, Chantal Akerman, Agnes Varda
and Ville Salminen.

Or maybe it's just their films. Is de Toth dead?

We used to have some Finnish subscribers to SCREEN-L. Can anyone help me
out here?
