I'm thinking of reopening SCREEN-L to postings from anyone. Currently
it's limited to messages from folks who are already on the list.

You may recall that I took this measure because of a single incident of
an error message looping and sending out 43 messages. By limiting
messages to list members these error loops are highly unlikely.

BUT, limiting it to list members has caused problems for several people
who belong to the list, but tried to post from a slightly different
address than they usually do. The LISTSERV rejected their postings.
And also, limiting it to listmembers also blocks out folks that don't
personally belong to SCREEN-L, but who read it at some central
distribution point.

Plus, the danger of error loops seems to be pretty remote. As listowner
I receive all error messages and there haven't been any of the looping
variety since that one time.

So what do you think, SCREEN-L members, shall we risk the loops and open
things up again?

P.S. And what's been going on out there, anyway? Things have been
awfully quiet since final exam season rolled around.
