I'm in the midst of writing a textbook on television criticism. Part of
it will be detailed stuff on TV style. Consequently I need to
illustrate it with video frame enlargements.

Previously I've done them by just pointing a still camera at a good
quality monitor and slowing the shutter speed down to 1/30 or so. Does
anyone know of a better technique?

I do have access to some digital video equipment (1 inch). Is it
possible to capture frames and then have them transfered to a hard copy?
Would that look better than just shooting off the TV screen?

And, failing in that, does anyone have any pointers about maximizing the
quality of shot-off-the-screen stuff?

Thanks for the help.
