The ELECTRONIC JOURNAL OF COMMUNICATION/LA REVUE ELECTRONIQUE DE
COMMUNICATION is seeking original, unpublished manuscripts on the
topic of "The Media and the Gulf War." Papers addressing any
issues related to the general topic, based on any conceptual
framework and any methodological approach, are welcome. Examples
might include critical, discourse analysis and/or content
analyses of news coverage, audience surveys, analyses of military
policies about the media, and so on. International perspectives
are encouraged. The major criterion is that papers should make a
significant contribution to our understanding about the nature,
roles, impacts, or functions of the media in the context of the
Gulf War. Papers will be reviewed anonymously.
 
 
The DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION is June 15, 1991. Publication is
expected in Fall, 1991.

SUBMISSION: Papers can be submitted via e-mail to the Internet
address above or on floppy disks via USMail. E-mail or disk
files *MUST* be in ASCII. Any IBM/DOS disk format is acceptable
(5-1/4", 360K or 1.2M; 3-1/2", 720K or 1.44M).
 
FORMAT: Papers should not exceed 25 single-spaced pages, with
the right margin set at no more than 60 columns. Manuscripts may
be prepared in accordance with the APA Publication Manual, the
Chicago Manual of Style, the MLA Handbook, or the Oxford/Turabian
Style Guide. References and notes should appear at the end of
the manuscript. Submissions must be accompanied by a one page
(screen) abstract. Articles accepted for publication will be
accompanied by abstracts in both French and English.

THE ELECTRONIC JOURNAL OF COMMUNICATION/LA REVUE ELECTRONIQUE DE
COMMUNICATION is a new bilingual (English/French) journal
pioneering the use of electronic media in academic publication in
the communication field. EJC/REC is published four times yearly
and is devoted to publishing the best original scholarship in
communication. EJC/REC is devoted to the study of communication
theory, research, practice, and policy. Manuscripts reporting
original research, methodologies relevant to the study of human
communication, critical syntheses of research, and theoretical
and philosophical perspectives on communication, are encouraged.
EJC/REC is edited by James Winter, University of Windsor, and
Claude Martin, l'Universite de Montreal.
