I'm not sure EXACTLY what this new discussion list is all about, but
I thought it might interest some SCREEN-L subscribers.

        or [log in to unmask]

The list XCULT-X has been created on [log in to unmask] Please send
your subscription requests to LISTSERV@UMRVMB or
[log in to unmask] In the text of the mail include:
       SUB XCULT-X yourfirstname yourlastname

The following statement of purpose for the list was provided by the
sponsor and list owner, Lance Hayes ([log in to unmask]).

The purpose of Xcult-X, Intercultural Communication Practicum, is to
foster interdisciplinary discussions of communication philosophy,
theory, and practice in the global village through formation of a
discussion group via human computer-mediated communication.

Xcult-X is a rule-free discussion group open to all. It is sponsored
by Lance Haynes who refuses to take any power other than that firmly
imposed by the host computer center. Requests for listowner to exert
any power whatsoever over the topics or discussion methods on this
list will be met with referral to group discussion.

The Intercultural Communication Practicum is a "child" of the
International Intercultural Newsletter in that Xcult-X was begun in
an effort to house discussion topics and methods that originated on
Xcult-L but were not in keeping with its announced purposes.
