I am interested in the uses and effects of media technologies
on membership groups that have, for cultural or religious reasons,
distanced themselves from such involvement.
For example, has the introduction and proliferation of
television cable systems and VCRs provided a diffusion of
influence among membership groups that have generally been
critical of television and film content?
This question could be viewed from a uses and gratifications
approach, a media effects analysis, and an organizational
control study.
    Any comments, journal sources, insights?
