DEPARTMENT OF MEDIA, FILM AND COMMUNICATION
HUMANITIES DIVISION



The Department of Media, Film and Communication is looking to appoint a fixed term, part-time Teaching Fellow to co-ordinate and deliver the paper MFCO 312 - Communication and the City in Semester Two of 2018.



‘Communication and the City’ examines how our experiences of cities, their formation and governance are influenced by communication technologies and practices. The paper considers the consequences of evolving communication and media technologies for cities, how they are represented, and for urban economies and ways of life.



Duties and Responsibilities



In this role you will be responsible to the Head of Department and will be required to work within the existing structure for the paper, delivering a two hour lecture each week for 13 weeks and one to two tutorial groups for 10 weeks.



Your Skills and Experience



• A PhD in Communication Studies, Film and Media Studies or a cognate discipline.
• Demonstrated evidence of high quality teaching, preferably at 300-level. It is desirable for these to be evidenced by teaching and/or peer evaluations.
• Commitment to collegiality, teamwork, collaboration and cooperation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Sensitivity to cultural diversity.

This is a part-time (0.4 FTE), fixed term position from 11 June to 16 November 2018.
