The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is pleased to welcome applications for terminal MA and PhD degrees in Media, Cinema, and Digital Studies in Plan H in the Department of English. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is an R1 Doctoral University located near the shores of Lake Michigan in the vibrant city of Milwaukee, WI. Plan H's unique interdisciplinary program combines studies of film, media, and popular culture with studies
of developing digital technologies and textualities. Students can expect training in a breadth of media-oriented disciplines, including film, television, cultural studies, games, and digital media, and, with teaching assistantships, hands-on experience instructing at multiple levels of the undergraduate curriculum. During their course of study, students are encouraged to combine historical rigor and theoretical investigation with explorations of new and developing global cultural practices, shifts in industry structures and technology, and/or developments in narrative and formal conventions.
