The University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Mass Communication
invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor
(R99594) position in Film Studies beginning August 15, 2016. We seek a
student-oriented colleague to teach a variety of courses in the history and
criticism of motion pictures, including Introduction to Motion Pictures and
courses in an area of specialization. We expect that a substantial portion
of classes for this position will be taught online. The ability to
contribute in other areas of our Media Production and Design curriculum is
desirable. The School of Mass Communication offers undergraduate emphasis
areas in Motion Picture Production, Media Production, Journalism, Strategic
Communication, and Mass Media, a Master’s degree in Mass Communication, and
minors in Film, Media Production and Design, Journalism, and Strategic
Communication. The successful candidate will join a growing program with
collegial faculty.

Required qualifications:  Doctoral degree in Mass Communication or related
field. ABD’s will be considered if degree will be completed by time of
employment. Experience in college teaching, teaching online courses and
evidence of scholarship or scholarly potential.
