2. Plagiarism

I would like to draw colleagues’ attention to a serious case of plagiarism. The article by Bert Cardullo, 'Cinema as social documentary', in volume 13 number 1 (2013) has been retracted due to plagiarism. Fifty-eight per cent of the article reproduces an article previously published in 2012 by Marco Grosoli, 'André Bazin: film as social documentary', in the online journal 'New Readings' (http://ojs.cf.ac.uk/index.php/newreadings/article/view/41). Colleagues may like to know that Professor Cardullo has already had articles retracted by academic journals due to plagiarism; see the Editorial Notice in The Cambridge Quarterly, 41:3 (2012) (http://muse.jhu.edu/login?auth=0&type=summary&url=/journals/cambridge_quarterly/v041/41.3.editor.html).
