Dear Colleagues,

Please remind your interested and qualified students that the deadline for applying to Brock University’s Interdisciplinary MA in Popular Culture is February 1, 2014.

The Interdisciplinary MA in Popular Culture draws on theoretical perspectives, approaches, and methods from various disciplines in the Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as the established interdisciplinary field of Cultural Studies. The study of Popular Culture ranges from traditional textual analysis to ethnographic observation and participant interviews, and the themes and topics addressed in the program emphasize both historical and contemporary perspectives. The program espouses no single methodological or theoretical perspective.

Given its interdisciplinary character, the program welcomes students from a variety of academic backgrounds, including (but not limited to) Communication or Media Studies, English Literature, Film Studies, History, Music, Political Science, Sociology, Canadian Studies, and Women's Studies.

For more information, please visit www.brocku.ca/mapopularculture or contact Graduate Program Coordinator Amanda Bishop at [log in to unmask]
