Documentary Filmmaker (Full Time Position)
Assistant Professional Practice Professor

The School of Journalism and the Program in Film Studies at the University of Missouri seek candidates for a full-time assistant professional practice professor faculty position in documentary filmmaking. Candidates will be expected to teach on a nine-month, renewable appointment in areas connected to documentary/non-fiction film production, starting August 2014. Courses may include: documentary filmmaking techniques, cinematography, editing, preproduction, grantsmanship and the supervision of internships. 

This new position is part of a unique collaboration between the College of Arts and Science and the Missouri School of Journalism. The new faculty member will be expected to teach students from both schools, film students and journalists, and foster connections among the University and professional filmmakers.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, Film Studies or closely-related field. Candidates will be evaluated on their record of documentary film productivity and their on-going and projected documentary film projects. 

Compensation is competitive for professional practice positions. This position is eligible for University benefits.
