Call for Papers:
Workshop on Indonesian Cinema
Friday 18 October 2013
SOAS, University of London

The Centre for South East Asian Studies at SOAS will be hosting five days of Indonesian film screenings from 16-20 October 2013. To coincide with this event, a workshop is planned which will bring together academics and students working on Indonesian film. The theme of the workshop will be as broad as possible in order to allow colleagues to exchange ideas regarding their current research. It is anticipated that one or two film practitioners will also be able to participate. Hopefully a number of the papers presented at the workshop will be brought together for publication in a journal special issue.

The event is partially supported by the Indonesian Embassy in London and there may be some limited funding available to help with transport and accommodation costs. However, those interested in attending should also seek support from their own institutions or external funding bodies.

Anyone interested in participating in the workshop should send an abstract of approximately 200 words to Dr Ben Murtagh by 12 July 2013. <[log in to unmask]>
