Dear Colleague

Change to membership of the Association for Studies in French Cinema

At our Annual Meeting in London in June of this year, the Board of the Association (which is comprised of the Editorial Board of the journal) agreed that we should change the current arrangements for membership.

Currently, we do not charge for membership. Members benefit from a modest reduction in the annual conference fee, but have not hitherto benefited from any reduction in journal subscription.

We have decided to establish the Association on a firmer footing by charging an annual subscription of £10 (flat-free irrespective of status), coupled with a substantial reduction of 50% for subscription to the journal. This will be effective for volume 13 (2013) onwards.

The journal subscription is currently £36. Members of the Association will save £18 for subscription, and will also benefit from a reduction in the annual conference fee.

The reason we are doing this is partly to increase individual subscriptions to the journal, and partly to generate income to support our conference with postgraduate travel bursaries and subsidies for non-UK-based speakers. By subscribing not only do you save money on a well-established and key journal in cinema studies, but you will be supporting existing and more importantly future scholars in the field.

If you would like to join the Association, please click on the following link, which will take you to the University of Surrey’s online store for the annual subscription for 2013.

http://store.surrey.ac.uk/browse/extra_info.asp?compid=1&catid=64&modid=1&prodid=1468&deptid=75&prodvarid=0

We will then arrange the discount with the journal distributors.
