APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING

i hope screen-l subscribers will forgive a quick question that i suspect you're all well positioned to answer but that has [almost] nothing to do with cinema . . . specifically, for reasons that i'd be happy to explain if asked, i'm seeking suggestions for THE TEN OR TWELVE MOST IMPORTANT BOOKS OF THE 20TH CENTURY . . . my only requirement is that they be works of non-fiction . . . otherwise i'm eager to find out what cinema scholars would include in such a list

since this is so far removed from matters of cinema, please respond off-list to [log in to unmask]

many thanks

mike
