The University of Notre Dame, Department of Film, Television, and 
Theatre, invites applications for Professor of Film and Digital Media 
Production. Rank open but we expect to hire at a senior level. This 
position will be responsible for leading the department’s growing 
concentration in this area.

The successful candidate must have an MFA or Ph.D. in film production 
and significant teaching experience, or equivalent. Area of 
specialization is open, but demonstrated expertise in new media formats, 
narrative filmmaking, or screenwriting is especially desirable. We 
particularly welcome applicants who will continue the department's tight 
integration of production and critical studies, and contribute 
significantly to the rapidly expanding digital visual culture at Notre Dame.

The Search Committee’s deliberations will begin on November 15, 2011. 
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The 
appointment begins Tuesday, August 20, 2012. The University is on the 
semester system.

The Department of Film, Television, and Theatre (see:

faculty. The liberal arts oriented curriculum presents a broad exposure 
to screen cultures as an intellectual endeavor as well as an aesthetic 
and practical one, and offers courses that appeal to a wide range of
