Position 1:  Television Studies
         The University of Texas at Austin Department of 
Radio-Television-Film seeks to fill a tenure-track position, beginning Fall 
2011, in television studies and/or the cultural history of broadcasting in 
North America.  A Ph.D. in media studies or a related field is preferred, 
with a strong record in publishing and teaching, and experience working 
with advanced graduate and undergraduate students.  Instructional 
responsibilities will include the development of online courses, in 
accordance with a new University-wide initiative.  Salary commensurate with 
experience.  We will begin reviewing applications on February 7, 2011, and 
will continue until the position is filled.

Position 2:  Screenwriting
         The University of Texas at Austin Department of 
Radio-Television-Film seeks to fill a tenure-track position in 
screenwriting, beginning Fall 2011.   Candidates must demonstrate a strong 
creative and professional track record in screenwriting, and be capable of 
supervising both undergraduate and graduate students.   Experience writing 
for both features and television is desirable.   Teaching experience and a 
terminal degree (MFA or PhD) are strongly preferred but not 
required.   Application materials must be received by February 7, 2011.

recommendation, and two work samples (work samples may include both feature 
scripts and teleplays, preferably sent by email attachment to
