My understanding is that the company that owns New Yorker put it up for collateral on a loan then defaulted. In that case then there's a chance that New Yorker won't fill outstanding orders due to no fault of their own but entirely the decision of the new company that owns them. Since this company apparently decided to shut down New Yorker and sell off the assets they clearly don't see much value in continuing it as a business. But I can tell you from having been on the other side of this situation there's a lot that outsiders will never know.

>Just saw the news that New Yorker Films is out of business and wondered if anyone out there has information about what this means with regard to their library of films. The reason I ask is that I've got outstanding orders with them for this semester but have been unable to reach them. I would imagine that they would continue to honor open orders, but I can also imagine being quite wrong about that. Any help would be appreciated.
