The ad calls for a literature scholar, but we are actually casting a wider net and would like film, media, and popular culture scholars to apply.

Assistant Professor of English: Ethnic American Literature

 

The University of Colorado at Boulder Department of English announces a tenure-track position in Ethnic American literature, to begin August 2009.  We anticipate hiring at the assistant professor level.  However, applications at other levels will be considered from those who would strengthen the department's diversity.  We especially seek specialists in Native American, African American, and/or Asian American literatures; comparative approaches are also welcome.  PhD in hand by August 2009 is required for appointment as assistant professor.  Substantial teaching experience and a strong record of publication in Ethnic American literature are required for a tenured appointment.  The normal teaching load is 2/2, and includes undergraduate English-major courses and graduate courses.
