The Department of Visual & Performing Arts at Rutgers University – Newark (New Jersey) seeks a Part Time Lecturer to teach two undergraduate courses during the Fall 2008 semester.

The position is for 8 weeks only (Sept 8-Oct 23), as the instructor will be substituting for a faculty member on Family Leave. The instructor should be willing to work within the guidelines of pre-established course outlines.

(1)    INTRODUCTION TO MASS MEDIA: a 100-level survey course introducing students to the history and workings of media industries including radio, television, cinema, newspapers, and broadcast news

(2)    CONVERGENCE: TELEVISION AND THE NEW MEDIA, a 300-level course, examines how new media technologies converging on the platform of the internet are transforming traditional media industries including television, cinema, and journalism.

This position is ideal for advanced graduate students in media studies or media production.
