Middlebury College, Program in Film and Media Culture
Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Video/Media Production
 
The Program in Film and Media Culture at Middlebury College invites
applications for a tenure track position in Media Production beginning
September 2008.  Tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level;
completed M.F.A. or Ph.D. preferred.  The successful candidate will
primarily teach introductory and advanced courses in video and digital media
production.  In addition, candidates should be prepared to teach
introductory courses in media studies as well as areas of specialized
interest, which might include screenwriting, documentary, and media
representations of gender, race and ethnicity, among other interests. It is
expected that this candidate will be an active media creator and producer.
The successful candidate should be comfortable teaching in a
humanities-centered program anchored in film and media studies as part of an
undergraduate liberal arts curriculum.
 
Applicants should provide evidence of creative potential and excellent
teaching.  Send letter of application with a statement of teaching and
research interests, curriculum vitae, a sample of video/media production and
written work, graduate transcript, and three letters of reference, at least
two of which should speak to the candidate's teaching ability, to Leger
Grindon, Director, Film and Media Culture Program, Wright Theater,
Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont 05753. Review of applications will
begin on November 20, 2007 and continue until the position has been filled.
