I had made a suggestion offlist, but since no-one on the list has
mentioned it, I think that pre-Crank, Torque represents some sort of
extreme of action film stylization.  I recall the soundtrack as being
composed of techno and loads of heavy metal, so fairly illustrative of
tendencies in this sort of film as well.
