While the following job is not specifically oriented toward film & media
studies, we certainly would be open to candidates whose expertise is focused
on race & ethnicity in American film and/or media. Please forward to anyone
you think might be interested & qualified:

Middlebury College
 
The Program in American Studies invites applications for a tenure track
position in race & ethnicity in the United States beginning September 2007.
Appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor (Ph.D), or
Instructor (ABD). Interdisciplinary work centered in one of the following
areas is particularly desirable: theories of race and ethnicity; Latino/a
studies; Asian American Studies; race, ethnicity and popular culture;
comparative cultural study of race and ethnicity in the United States and
other regions.
Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to excellent teaching and
scholarly potential. Send letter of application with a statement of
teaching interests, curriculum vitae, graduate transcript, a sample of
scholarly work, and three current letters of recommendation, at least two of
which must speak to teaching ability, to: Michael Newbury, Director,
Program in American Studies, Middlebury College, Adirondack House,
Middlebury, VT 05753. All applications must be received by December 20,
2006 with review of materials to begin immediately. Middlebury College is
