**The Critical Studies Division of the School of Cinema-Television at
the University of Southern California announces Two Post Doctorate
Teaching Fellowships for the 2006-2007 Academic Year. * *
OUR GOALS:**
· To provide unique editorial perspectives for our journal,
/Spectator/
· To provide small seminars or core courses for our undergraduate
majors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:**
· Teach one undergraduate course each semester (Fall, Spring) in
Critical Studies, including a Senior Seminar on topics related to the
fields of your dissertation; or as per departmental needs teach an
existing course within the curriculum.
· Edit one issue of the SPECTATOR either in the fall or spring
semester on a topic related to your dissertation. The issue must be
completed and submitted for printing by the end of the academic year.
You will also assist with promoting SPECTATOR.
SALARY: $40,000
ELIGIBILITY:**
You must have completed a PhD degree within the field or within the USC
Division of Critical Studies within the last five years (no earlier than
May 2001 and no later than August 1, 2006). Degree MUST be completed
with all appropriate paperwork confirmed prior to start date [no
exceptions]. During the selection process, your chair must confirm that
you will file in advance of August. Additionally, Post Doctorate Fellows
may hold no other positions or employment during the period of the
fellowship.

SPECTATOR PROPOSAL*__*
Describe the focus of your proposed issue and how it will expand the
field (include a working draft of the title). List 8-10 contributors
whom you may approach in preparing your call for papers and their
significance within the field(s). Please prepare a sample call based on
the example provided.
SEMINAR PROPOSALS*__*
Describe the two senior seminars that you propose to teach (one
paragraph each and include the title of the course). Address the appeal
and content of this course as related to the Critical Studies Program
and current undergraduate students. Include the titles of some films or
television programs you may screen as well as the title of texts or
articles you may require the students to read. Also, prepare a flier
for the course, a one-paragraph course description, and a brief
biographical statement.

Spectator is a biannual publication and submissions that address the
above topics in the following areas are now invited for submission:

Manuscripts to be considered for publication should be sent to:

One copy of manuscript should be submitted as well as a copy on disk.
Submissions can also be e-mailed directly. Manuscripts should include
the title of the contribution and the name (s) of authors. As well as
the postal address, e-mail address, and phone numbers for author who
will work with the editor on any revisions. All pages should be numbered
consecutively. Contributions should not be more than 5,000 words. They
should also include a brief abstract for publicity. Authors should also
include a brief biographic entry. Rejected manuscripts will not be returned.
Articles submitted to the Spectator should not be under consideration by
any other journal.
Book Reviews may vary in length from 300 to 1,000 words. Please include
title of book, retail price and ISBN at the beginning of the review.
Forum or Additional Section contributions can include works on new
archival or research facilities or methods as well as other relevant
works related to the field.
Electronic Submissions and Formatting. Authors should send copies of
their work via e-mail as electronic attachments. Please keep backup
files of all disks. Files should be Microsoft Word in PC or Mac format,
depending on the editor's preference. Endnotes should conform to the
Chicago Manual of Style.
Upon acceptance, a format guideline will be forwarded to all
contributors as to image and text requirements.
