Hello, Janet and Leo--

There are a lot of films centering on Chicago. Chris Columbus and
John Hughes have made several obvious ones, which you probably have already.

Andrew Davis and John McNaughton are other mainstream directors who like
to shoot around Chicago:

McNaughton:
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) [I'm not 100% positive
about this one since it's been almost twenty years since I've seen it]
Mad Dog and Glory (1993)

Davis:
Chain Reaction (1996) with Keanu Reeves
Code of Silence (1985) with Chuck Norris

Of course, there's Haskell Wexler's Medium Cool. Steve McQueen's last
film, The Hunter (1980), was shot in Chicago, as was Herbert Ross'
Pennies from Heaven (1981). A Raisin in the Sun (1961) was also set in
Chicago.

Here are some some arcane titles:

Towing (also known as Who Stole My Wheels? and Fun Girls) directed by
Maura Smith, 1978
Windy City (Armyan Bernstein, 1989)
Right out of History: the Making of Judy Chicago's "Dinner Party"
(documentary, Johanna Petrakas, 1980)

Happy New Year.
