The Department of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas at 
Austin invites applications for the position of Associate Professor or 
Assistant Professor (tenured/tenure-track) specializing in film, media, and 
cultural studies in South Asia (India, Myanmar, Pakistan, Bangladesh, 
Indonesia, etc.) beginning Fall 2006.  Applicants should have completed the 
Ph.D. and should be able to teach, conduct research, and supervise graduate 
students in one or more of the following areas: history and analysis of 
Indian/South Asian cinema, radio, satellite and television broadcasting, or 
other communications media; and South Asian culture and society.  Please

78712-0108 by October 7, 2005. The Department of Radio-Television-Film has 
25 permanent faculty, approximately 900 undergraduate majors & 150 graduate 
students pursuing Ph.D., M.A. or M.F.A. degrees. RTF offers courses in film 
& television studies, international communication, telecommunication 
technology & policy, gender & sexuality, race and ethnic issues in 
communication, film & video production, screenwriting, and digital media.
