_Click here: 2003 Annual CD-ROM_
(http://www.h-net.msu.edu/~filmhis/cd_rom/2003.htm)

Dear Film Scholars,

Film & History produces a compendious CD-ROM of video, audio, and text each
year--although we sometimes fall behind schedule due to the fact that we are
all volunteers!!

In any case, the click point, above, will lead you to the most recent CD-ROM
Annual
and there you will find a treasure trove of information described. Amont
the items
is a fascinating lecture by John Cawelti about his famous _Six-Gun
Mystique_, with
emphasis on its place within the scholarly context of the time, 1970. Also,
we have
reprinted the entire _American Visions_ book by Charles Maland (U of Tenn),
a
pioneer work in American/Film Studies.

Some 35 articles are on the CD-Rom Annual with the following topics:

The American West(s) in Film and Television
The American Presidency
The War Film
History in Film & Television
International Cinema
Politics and Propaganda
Film Commentary and Analysis
Genre, Gender, and Ethnicity
Pedagogy

These CD-ROMS (there are now a total of five of them) are designed for
libraries,
but we have found that filmmakers and television stations have been loyal
subscribers.

Check out this unique "line" of scholarship, soon to replace the printed
page!
