The one that immediately comes to mind is ACTION IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC (1943), about a Merchant Marine convoy, starring Humphrey Bogart and Raymond Massey. The anti-communist BLOOD ALLEY, with John Wayne and Lauren Bacall (1955) is another.

The IMBD also lists WESTERN APPROACHES, a 1944 British documentary.

Subject: [SCREEN-L] merchant navy

Good morning,

Does anyone know of films about the Merchant Navy (British, Canadian, US)
up to 1960?

As always, many thanks,
Cheryl
