AFGHANISTAN UNVEILED,
Premieres on Independent Lens November 16

Women Make Movies is pleased to announce the broadcast premiere of Afghanistan Unveiled on
the acclaimed PBS series Independent Lens Nov. 16. (Check local listings for exact dates and
times).

When the first team of women video journalists to be trained in Afghanistan go to rural regions of
the country with cameras in hand, their travels turn out to be as much an emotional journey as a
geographic one. Offering the public access to remarkable and heartbreaking stories never before
seen on film, Afghanistan Unveiled truly reveals the effect of the Taliban's oppressive rule and the
United States-sponsored bombing campaign on the lives of Afghan women.
