I am unaware of any book on Australian Cult Cinema. Scott Murray edited in

Australian Film 1978 - 1994 Oxford University Press. Susan Dermody and Liz

Jacka covered some of the more eccentric films in their books on Australian

Cinema. Phil (his surname slips my mind) also covered some Australian films

in his Glossy magazine on exploitation flics.  There have been some locally

published fanzines on the subject of cult and exploitation films but these

have stressed Hong Kong films.



When Tarrantino addressed the crowd at the premiere of Kill Bill one, he

mentioned actor John Jarret and direcor Brian Trenchard-Smith. The crowd

murmured approval but I'd be surprised if even ten percent of the audience

had seen Turkey Shoot, Dead End Drive Inn and other Tarrantino favourites.



While studying Cinema I worked at a tiny indy theatre then called the

Mandolin (originally called Mandarin as it showed Hong Kong movies for

Sydney's large Asian community). I had the chance to see many minor films

like Zombie Brigade etc. Except for the Peter Jackson zombie comedies most

had a very limited release or were never commercially released. In fact

Tarrantino has probably seen many more of these films than the average

Australian.



If I do a Phd I'll do it on Australasian horror/cult/exploitation but right

now I'm busy writing, editing and teaching for a living.



However I will pass your query on to some other interested parties. There

may have been publications that have slipped by me.
