Anticipated tenure-track Assistant Professor in Television Studies.
Ph.D. required. Seeking applicants with an active research program and
ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in television
studies. The successful candidate will help shape an innovative Ph.D.
program in Moving Image Studies that combines studies in film,

Race/Ethnicity Studies
Anticipated tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Communication
Studies with a specialization in race/ethnicity research. Ph.D.
required. Seeking applicants with an active communication research
program in race and/or ethnicity studies and the ability to teach
undergraduate and graduate courses in related areas. Send letter of
application, vita, transcripts, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION
The Department of Communication has an active, accomplished faculty,
whose work is nationally and internationally recognized. There are
approximately 120 M.A. students and 40 Ph.D. students in a thriving
graduate program. The Ph.D. program offers instruction in two tracks:
Public Communication (which brings together faculty in the mass and
speech communication areas) and Moving Image Studies (combining faculty
strength in film and digital media production and criticism, and
performance studies). The graduate faculty has been greatly enhanced in
the last five years, and the university has committed to additional
programmatic expansion. The department houses the Digital Arts and
Entertainment Laboratory (including an audience response theatre and
digital production and post-production studios), the Center for
International Media Education, and the Center for Research on Atypical
Development and Learning. Our faculty is diverse and collegial. The
