Dear Film Scholars,

The American Historical Association session on "The Presidency in
Film and TV" sponsored by Film & History as part of the American Historical
Association meeting will be taped by C-SPAN on Friday.

The session is scheduled for 3:30pm on Friday, January 9 and will
be in the Executive Room of the Omni Shoreham Hotel, 2nd floor. Be there and
get yourself on TV by asking an incisive question or two!

These sessions are aired any number of times: in this case, the
panel will be shown on BookNotes (C-SPAN 2) at some point—and it will not
necessarily be a live broadcast.

Later, tapes are available from the C-SPAN Archive at Purdue
University for around $20.00. There are a number of back programs with Film &
History featuring a variety of people: Garry Wills, Ken Burns, Oliver Stone, A.M.
Schlesinger, Jr, George McGovern, et al.

The program will feature information from HOLLYWOOD'S WHITE HOUSE
and THE WEST WING, to volumes edited by Peter Rollins and John E. O'Connor.
(O'Connor was the founder of Film & History back in 1970, along with Martin
Jackson.)

Be there!

Peter Rollins
