I can think of the deaths of two major directors, mid-filming: Ernst Lubitsch
during THAT LADY IN ERMINE and Anthony Mann amid A DANDY IN ASPIC (The latter
was finished by the film's star, Lawrence Harvey).

Also, I thought that Monroe was actually fired from SOMETHING'S GOT TO GIVE
some months before her death.  The movie was eventually converted into the
Doris Day vehicle, MOVE OVER, DARLING.
