To my knowledge, all US dissertations must be filed with UMI (aka, ProQuest):

http://www.umi.com/

I just checked there and found the following available for ordering:

DON'T WATCH THAT MOVIE. CENSORSHIP AND PROTESTS OF FILMS IN AMERICA, 1980-1992.
LYONS, CHARLES RESS, PHD. COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, 1994. 374 pp. Advisor: INSDORF,
ANNETTE.  #9421376

One tip: If you do go there and search on his name, be sure to put his last
name first.

Regards,

          * Looking for a dissertation. (11/17)
            From: Robert Hunt <[log in to unmask]>

I'm looking for a copy of a Columbia University Ph.D. dissertation by Charles
Lyons. It's called "Don't Watch That Movie" and was cited by David Sterritt
in his book on Jean-Luc Godard. Does anyone know if its available on any
academic database or webstite?
Thanks
Robert Hunt
