October 24 - 26, 2003
Austin, TX, USA

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Global Fusion 2003 Conference is now accepting original research and
theoretical papers on topics of international and intercultural
communication. After the submissions have been peer-reviewed, the
conference committee will select the top papers for authors to present at
the GF 2003 academic conference in Austin, TX, USA (October 24 - 26, 2003)
and for possible publishing. The conference organizers are Dr. Joseph
Straubhaar of the University of Texas at Austin and Dr. Antonio La-Pastina
of Texas A & M University. For more information, please contact

Research paper topics include, but are not limited to, international or
intercultural analyses of cinema, journalism, advertising, television,
video games, media distribution, literature, cultural flows, art and music
studies, media in transition, gender issues, intellectual properties, and
telecommunications. Theoretical paper topics include, but are not limited
to, issues of globalization, glocalization, media flows across borders,
hybridization, post-colonialism, media economics, cultural effects, digital
divide disparities, international media law, and critical analysis. In
light of recent international events, papers relating in some way to world
conflict and peace would be especially welcome.

The goal of this conference series is to present the tremendous variety of
ongoing research and theorization in the fields of international and
intercultural communication. Therefore, even if papers do not fit neatly
into the above categories, please feel free to submit them; the Global
Fusion Conference is actively seeking diversity.
